Object Name Zincite
Object Description Massive reddish grey zincite with small octahedral grains of black sub-metallic franklinite and sand grains adhered to one surface. A tan coating covers part of the rock and serves as cement for the sand grains. This sample is included in the Catalogue of the Collection of Minerals in the College of S. C. and can be found on page 121. It was a part of the college's original acquisition from Thomas Cooper in 1821.
