Object Description This gem quality sample of the mineral Spodumene, var. Kunzite was collected from the historic Chief Mine in California. It consists of a single, isolated, pink to violet, transparent, and heavily striated partial crystal. The lilac to pink variety of the lithium rich mineral Spodumene was named for G. Frederick Kunz who first described it in 1902.
