Object Description |
Fourteen freshwater mussel valves, seven complete specimens. The exteriors range from dark to medium brown, gray, and olive green in color and are covered with growth lines. The periostracum is flaking nearing the umbos. The interiors exhibit an iridescent, silver to white color with very shallow muscle scars, and no visible hinge teeth. The triangularly shaped shells have large wing-shaped shelves near the umbos, rounded anterior edges and rounded posterior edges. |
