Object Description |
Called a "missionary bag" on the catalog card. Made of coiled sweetgrass and pine needles sewn with palmetto leaf with double looped handle attached and extending about an inch along outer edge of bag, front and opposite, and bounded by a single scalloped coil of sweetgrass attached alternately to edges. Center of bag, front and opposite, has a coil of sweetgrass 1" in diameter. Front and opposite flattened surfaces of bag have four concentric coils of pine needles with evenly spaced knots. |
