Object Description |
Rock specimen with tiny pale yellow translucent apatite in dark gray fibrous tremolite and massive colorless quartz. Historical label suggests this is moroxite (a blue-green variety of apatite). Either the color has altered to yellow, or this is not moroxite. This sample is included in the Catalogue of the Collection of Minerals in the College of S. C. and can be found on page 33. It was a part of the college's original acquisition from Thomas Cooper in 1821. |
