Object Description |
Two valves of a freshwater mussel, one complete marine bivalve. The exterior of the valves is a dark brown with the interior being a glossy white. The anterior muscle scars are discolored to a light brown and break the smooth texture of the rest of the interior. The posterior muscle scars are not discolored with little to no noticeable change in texture. The shells have a noticeable pallial line but an indiscernible pallial sinus. Serrations are also absent from the ventral margin. The exterior of the shells is ornamented with growth lines that are heavily worn down creating brown and grey discolorations. |
