Object Description |
Specimen consists of 6-10 twinned doubly terminated colorless transparent scalenohedral calcite crystals aligned at the center points. Disphenoidal chalcopyrite is included in numerous calcite crystals, in addition to an earthy greenish coating (copper staining) on crystals to the right of the specimen number. This sample is included in the Catalogue of the Collection of Minerals in the College of S. C. and can be found on page 21. It was a part of the college's original acquisition from Thomas Cooper in 1821. |
