Object Description |
Two valves comprising one complete freshwater mussel specimen. The exteriors are dark brown. The interiors have a silver nacre and are irisdescent. The periostracum on the umbos started to flake due to wear. The elliptical shaped valves are elongated, covered with growth lines and striations, have shallow muscle scars, and moderately sized hinge teeth. The valves have pointed posterior edges and rounded anterior edges. |
