This piece was excellently hand-quilted in a grid and scallop pattern by an unknown quiltmaker, probably between 1880 and 1900. This pattern may be a variation on the "Lady of the Lakes". The sawtooth pattern covers the entire quilt; triangle-shaped pieces are used to form "X" shapes. There are 25 total X's (4x5). This hand-quilted quilt was created by an unknown quiltmaker, probably around the last decade of the 19th century. This pattern is called a "Capital T" pattern. The quilt was used as a Christmas tablecloth during its life. On a field of moss green, there are 20 white squares (4x5), each with a red "capital T" pattern within.
