   This piece was excellently hand-quilted in a grid and scallop pattern by an unknown quiltmaker, probably between 1880 and 1900. This pattern may be a variation on the "Lady of the Lakes". The sawtooth pattern covers the entire quilt; triangle-shaped pieces are used to form "X" shapes. There are 25 total X's (4x5).
