Object Description |
Three turbinate, marine snail shells. There are five whorls on each shell with the coloration varying between shells. Shell 21-056.1 is a dark brown color. The other shells are light pink and white in color. There are deep sutures between each convex whorl. The shell has distinct ornamentation consisting of axial costae and spiral striae resulting in raised nodules where the two ornamentations meet. The siphonal canal is short and open with a flat anterior edge. The shells are dextral, with "oval" shaped apertures. There is a slip of paper with the specimens that reads, "O. plicata / Kurtz Ft. Johnson." |
