    One valve of a clam shell. It is ovoid and slightly triangular in shape. The anterior end is rounded showing slight damage. A large beak is present with a straight hinge line. The valve is white in color and partially covered in in periostracum. There are smooth ribs on the left side of the valve with beaded ribs on the right.

    One fossil marine valve. The dorsal of the valve is pale gray, white, and light tan in color. The ventral is a reddish tan with prominent muscle scars and very fine striae at the ventral margin. The entire valve is covered in small holes and raised striae radiate from the hinge to the outer lip. Growth lines are more visible near the outer lip.

    Eight turbinate, marine snail shells. The ornamentation on the exterior is smooth and the interior displays lirae inside the outer lip. The shells are tan in color with multiple narrow, dark brown transverse lines along each of the six whorls. The whorls are separated by fine sutures and the body whorl is inflated. The shells are dextral, with oval-shaped apertures and a siphonal notch.

    Isolated valve of a marine clam. The shell is very thin and nearly circular. The broken margin exhibits bright silver luster referenced in the species name. Exterior morphology is marked by very fine concentric striae.

    Isolated marine snail shell with a low spired, trochoid, conispiral shell that is heavily ornamented with four beaded ribs in the first five whorls, then four ribs with growth lines in the body whorl.

    Four lenticular, marine snail shells. The shells are tan in color with thin brown and white color bands. Brown dashes and growth lines spiral with the shells whorls, with the same dash pattern on the bases and inside of the umbilici. The shells have approximately five whorls that reach a flattened apex. The shells are dextral with oval shaped apertures. The umbilici are completely open and there appears to be denticles that wind up the umbilici.

  16. Arcinella arcinella

    Single isolated right valve of a jewelbox clam. The shell has at approximately five low radial ribs that are spinous (though many spines are broken off). Frilled growth layers are prominent and fine radial costae are present between the ribs. Matrix obscures the beak and teeth.

  17. Astyris lunata

    Nine turbinate, marine snail shells. The shells are grayish-white in color and have five whorls. The shells are predominately smooth and the coloration varies throughout each shell. There are subtle sutures between the whorls. The shells are dextral, with "oval" shaped apertures. There was a slip of paper that came with the specimens that read, "Cerithiopsis Greeni [2 illegible words] / Kurtz S.C."

    Eight saltwater clam valves. The exteriors are brown to tan in color. The shells have shallow ribs and are covered with spines, growth lines and a thin periostracum. The interiors are glossy and iridescent in appearance and tan to purple in color. The shells have very shallow muscle scars, no noticeable hinge teeth, and are translucent. The triangular shaped shells have pointed posterior edges and rounded anterior edges.
