   Quilt made using a Grandmother's Garden pattern with a green and pink floral border. Hexagonal rosettes may have been made from old dresses or shirts. Rosettes are formed from three tiers surrounded by the pink-on-white floral fabric used in the border. Triple border is formed by green, then pink, then green fabrics. Pink fabric is also used for binding. Hand-pieced and hand-quilted following hexagons. Cotton batting.

   Grandmother's Garden patterned quilt with green floral background. Border is one-piece and seven inches thick and is designed with several rows of different floral patterns. Middle portion of quilt contains 121 flower-like hexagonal blocks made up of three layers of 19 smaller hexagons of various fabrics and patterns. 3. Quilt - 1920 circa

   Quilt is made using a modified 9-patch pattern (Double Cross). Predominant colors are red, yellow, and green. There are sixteen sets on the diagonal with a green calico border around each. Red calico is used in the sashing and as a border. Brown fabric is used at top and bottom and is very deteriorated. Binding is yellow; batting is cotton. Hand-pieced and hand-quilted. Quilting follows pattern.

   This quilt was made by Ella Stewart (1856-1936) when she was 12 years old. The fabrics may have been purchased from Y. P. Withers in Fort Mill on March 14, 1868 for one dollar (see Quilt History Project documentation for receipts).    This piece was excellently hand-quilted in a grid and scallop pattern by an unknown quiltmaker, probably between 1880 and 1900. This pattern may be a variation on the "Lady of the Lakes".
